I'm asking for your help because I want to know what's going on before I spend money on some new pair of headphones, only to see them stop working as well. Now, either my mac is breaking my headphones, or this all just a huge coincidence. Conclusion: None of the 3 worked on 2 different devices. ![]() So, I decided to plug all 3 headphones to another device to find out wether they're not working, or my mac isn't. ![]() Yesterday, however, as I started playing some games with my gaming headphones, which use USB by the way (the others use headphone jack), the right side stopped working. I just started using the headphones with my hand raised, holding the cable. Therefore I thought it was just coincidence. However, it's possible to have both sides working after some tweaking with the cable. As a result, I stopped using them and grabbed my old headphones. ![]() I assumed that the problem was with the headphones since I tried them out on other devices and they didn't work either. This sentence confirms the diagnosis: To fix the problems I have to wiggle the cord back and forth until the computer is satisfied. Recently I noticed that the left side of my headphones stopped working. 1 Answer Sorted by: 3 The headphone jack has a connection problem - loose/broken solder joints, corroded connectors, and/or worn contacts. I have a late 2013 13-inch MacBook Pro Retina Display with the beta version of the MacOS High Sierra installed.
